Concept used to describe the side effects of medical intervention: medical treatment, supervision, operations... In recent years, the medical field has gained power to influence schools. In many cases, this is due to the inability of education professionals to meet the new demands of the students. Misdiagnosis of these needs coupled with the rigid standardization of school spaces can cause conflict situations between the student and the educational system. If the institution lacks professionals who can deal with the conflict, it usually ends up deriving into professionals outside the educational system with more clinic or reactive ways to act. The "psychiatrization" growing at early ages is sometimes an example of iatrogenic.
