Disney

"The Walt Disney Company" is currently the largest company in media and entertainment in the world. Born in the early twentieth century as one of the first manifestations of childcare by the audiovisual market. Considers childhood as a collective with potential consumption power. With this unique mercantilist view, their products are designed: movies, books, toys, etc. One consequence of this banal and erroneous analysis of the needs of children is the constant representation of the dominant stereotypes and social roles in their productions. The wrong picture of femininity, always covered in a wrapper of a "magical kingdom" has been a constant feature in his films. The same has happened with reproduction of the patriarchal and sexist dominant models. In the following video an analysis of some of these representations in Disney movies is shown.
