Gisèle Barret
PhD in theater pedagogy, born in Algeria in 1933. She devotes her professional action to training through theoretical and practical workshops. In 1967 she enrolled at the Faculty of Education at the University of Montreal and ten years later she became assistant professor. Finally, in 1979 she achieved a position as professor.
Her training emphasizes two aspects, firstly her studies at the Conservatory of music, dance and drama and, secondly, her pedagogical preparation in college and her experience as a producer and host of radio and school televisions.
Throughout her career she has advocated the use of theater as an educational resource for improving learning of children and their personal development.
She raises the theater as a valuable tool available to teachers, both for use as a teaching resource through which to teach different subjects to think of it, and as another subject in the curriculum.
