He was born in Rosario, Santa Fe province, Argentina on June 24th, 1987. His full name is Lionel Andrés Messi Cuccittini. Football player who currently plays with FC Barcelona in the forward position. He is considered the best player in the world nowadays by many football associations at national and international level. One of them, FIFA, has awarded him four consecutive times with the Golden Ball, the highest international award for the profession of footballer. In a collective level he has won numerous titles in the Spanish League, as well as the King’s Cup and Supercup of Spain. All of them with his current club, F.C. Barcelona. He has also been participant in the achievement of three Champions League, the most prestigious club competition at international level, and two World Cup. He is also Olympic medallist with Argentina and U-20 World Champion. Messi is considered by the public opinion as a special player.
