International Day of Play

It is a proposal of the International Association for the Right to Play. It is based on Article 31 of the Convention on the Rights of the Child and aims to get the celebration recognized by the UN. Some of the countries that have joined in this celebration: Spain, France, Portugal, Canada, Belgium, United Kingdom, Japan, Korea, Switzerland... Its objectives are to enforce that playtime should be regarded as: A right recognized by the Convention on the Rights of the Child A tool for building a better society through their creative and emotional potential. A necessity throughout life. It is proposed as the date for the meeting on 28 May and is celebrated every year on the weekend closest to that date.
