Gonzalo Jover

Is a professor of Theory of Education at the Complutense University of Madrid. Currently holds the position of Associate Dean for Research in the Department of Education, wherein he was formerly Director of the Department of Theory and History of Education and Coordinator of Teacher Training in Secondary Education for Masters. He has also worked as Adviser for the Ministry of Education in the General Secretariat of Universities and as Adviser for the Vice Chancellor of Graduate and Continuing Education at the Complutense University. Educational consultant of Fundación Crecer Jugando (Grow Playing Foundation) and promoter and Director of the Child's Play Observatory. He received the Children Awards of Community of Madrid for his research in the field of child education.
Visiting professor and researcher at numerous universities in Europe, North America and Latin America. Vice President of the Spanish Society of Pedagogy and a member of the Board of the European Educational Research Association (EERA) and the World Educational Research Association (WERA). He belongs to the scientific committees of various national and international journals on educational research and is Deputy Director of Revista Española de Pedagogía (Spanish Journal of Pedagogy) and the first Spanish-speaking magazine included in the Journal Citation Reports (JCR) Social Sciences Edition, Web of Knowledge.

He leads the research group of Civic Culture and Educational Politics at the Complutense University and he is a founding member of the Theory and History of Education International Research Group based at Queen’s University, Canada, and a member of the Network for Excellence in Higher Education based in Paris. His research is focused on developing discipline of theoretical knowledge of education, international education policy, ethics and political education and pedagogy of values in childhood, subjects on which he has published several books and numerous articles.
